ATTORNEYS FROM SOUKENÍK - ŠTRPKA HAS PARTICIPATED IN THE ANNUAL RICHARD DeWITT ARBITRATION CONFERENCE

Two attorneys, Lukáš Štefánik and Oľga Dlhopolčeková, from SOUKENÍK-ŠTRPKA gave a lecture at this year´s Richard Dewitt Arbitration Conference.

The 8^th annual conference, organized by AmCham (American Chamber of Commerce of Slovakia) in collaboration with theFaculty of Law of Comenius University, took place virtually on the 2^nd of June 2022.

This year´s conference consisted of two panels, the first focusing on arbitration and parallel court proceedings and the selection of arbitrators and the second on the arbitrators´ impartiality. Members of the panels consisted of lawyers from Slovakia and the Czech Republic, representing eight different law firms.

Attorneys Lukáš Štefánik and Oľga Dlhopolčeková contributed to the latter panel with their lecture titled Practical Questions Connected with the Resolving of Potential Conflict of Arbitrators in  International Commercial Arbitration.  This lecture dealt with the complexity of how to identify a possible conflict of interest during the selection of arbitrators, and the application of the objective and subjective tests, as well as of the reasonable third person test to confirm a potential conflict of interest.
